Fourth Padai Veedu. Here Murugan taught the Prāṇava-mantra (Oṁ) to his own father Shiva — hence the name Swāmī-malai ("Hill of the Teacher"). One of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalangal — temples sung in the Tevaram hymns of the 63 Nayanars (7th–9th c. CE). These are the canonical Tamil Shaiva pilgrimage circuit.
