[BEGINNER] Vesak (also spelled Wesak, also called Buddha Purnima in India) is the most sacred day in the Buddhist calendar, commemorating the Buddha's birth, enlightenment (awakening), and passing (Mahaparinirvana) โ all three events traditionally believed to have occurred on the same day (the full moon day of the month of Vaisakha, corresponding to April-May).
