[BEGINNER] The Ramayana (Journey of Rama) is one of the two great Hindu epics (alongside the Mahabharata), attributed to the sage Valmiki and consisting of approximately 24,000 verses organized into six books (Kandas). The epic tells the story of Prince Rama of Ayodhya — his birth to King Dasharatha, his marriage to Sita, his exile of 14 years to the forest, Sita's abduction by the demon king Ravana, and Rama's recovery of his wife through war and divine intervention.
