Ajivikas & Charvaka Challenge Orthodoxy

Makkhali Gosala founds the Ajivikas, teaching absolute determinism (niyati) and the irrelevance of karma. Brihaspati inspires the Charvaka school, India's first systematic materialism, rejecting God, soul, and rebirth. Both represent radical critiques of Vedic authority.
