A Portuguese chronicler whose account, together with Paes', forms the most important foreign source on the Vijayanagara Empire. He described the Battle of Raichur (1520) between Vijayanagara and the Bijapur Sultanate.
He documented the decline of the empire after the Battle of Talikota (1565), when the Vijayanagara capital was sacked by a coalition of Deccan Sultanates. His account is crucial for understanding the empire's fall.
