A French Dominican missionary who provided one of the earliest European accounts of India. His work, "Mirabilia Descripta" (Description of Marvels), describes the pepper trade, St. Thomas Christians, and Hindu customs.

He described the pepper trade and cultivation of spices on the Malabar Coast, documented the presence of St. Thomas Christians in India, and described Hindu customs including sati and idol worship.
Natural History
He noted the flora and fauna of India, including pepper vines and coconut trees, and described the social hierarchy and the role of Brahmins in Indian society.
