An Unusual Pilgrim
In Shaiva tradition, Nandi is never off-duty тАФ he stands guard at every doorway of his Lord. Yet the sthala purana of Thirunandhipura Vinnagaram remembers one remarkable journey: that same Nandi travelled here to worship Vishnu.
Nandipuram
The Lord welcomed him with full honours, and the village took a new name from the visit: Nandipura тАФ Nandi's town. Its presiding deity is Jaganatha Perumal. What makes the story beautiful is what it does NOT do: it does not separate anyone. When Shiva's own servant arrived at Vishnu's door, he was led inside with dignity, not kept waiting outside it.
A Small Lesson
The Alvars sang this kshetra among their hymns, and pilgrims still come here for their "second homes" тАФ the places where you can learn something new while your own tradition stays honoured. Divine grace has never been narrow; at this door, every sincere devotion arriving from any house is met with congratulations rather than suspicion.
