Three Gods in One Body
At Thiruvattaru, the idol of Adikesava contains Shiva and Brahma within his chest — three gods sharing one body, carved by nature itself.
A Body That Contains Heaven's Whole Family
Near Nagercoil, where the Tamraparani bends through palm country, stands the ancient shrine of Adikesava Perumal — a self-manifested image whose secret is its theology: inside Vishnu's own chest live Shiva and Brahma themselves. Creator and destroyer carried within the heart of the preserver.
Ramanuja's Shadow
Sri Ramanujacharya was deeply bound to this kshetra; his footsteps remain in these stones. Through even the fiercest centuries of Shaiva-Vaishnava rivalry, this temple kept its doors open to both — because when the image itself contains all three gods, sectarian argument loses its subject before it begins.
A Small Lesson
Pilgrims arrive carrying their scars of separation — from other communities, other paths, other names for God. The garbhagriha answers without words: God never divided himself to match our categories. Standing before that one body, division quietly becomes impossible.
