Ramanathaswamy Temple at Rameswaram is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and one of the four Char Dham pilgrimage sites. A Śiva temple founded in the Rāmāyaṇa tradition — where Rāma installed the liṅga before crossing to Laṅkā — it possesses the longest temple corridor in India (1212 pillars) and 22 sacred tīrthas (water tanks) representing the arrows of Rāma.
