Sacred Narrative

Kanak Bhawan ("Golden Palace") at Ayodhya is the palace gifted to Sita by Rama after their wedding. The current temple (1891, by Queen Vrisabhānukuvāri) houses Rama-Sīta + 3 golden crowns (said to be from Rama, Sita, and one for the ceremony). Annual Chait Navaratri sees Rāma Janma-mahotsav here. 1 of the 4 most important Ayodhya shrines.
