Chāmuṇḍā Devī temple at the Banerji tributary of the Bāner in Kangra Valley is the principal Shakta shrine of the Himachal Pahari region. The goddess is one of the Saptā-mātrikās (seven mothers) and the slayer of Chanda and Munda (hence Chāmuṇḍā). The sanctum is famous for its Panchamuṇḍa-āsana (5-skulls seat), and the puja is traditionally performed by Jogis of the Gorakhnātha order, not Brahmins. Distinct from Chāmuṇḍā of Mysore (which is in Karnataka). - Location: Chamunda Dev
