Story & Significance
The 1691 CE Jagannātha temple atop Ranchi's Jagarnathpur Hill (270m) is a miniature replica of Puri's temple, built by a Nagpuri king's minister for Odia traders. A 2-week Ratha Yātrā is held; adapted to local customs. The stone idol is one of very few Jagannāthas in non-Odia country.
