Kabir is one of the most radical figures in Indian religious history:

  • Born Muslim, became Hindu saint
  • Weavers used him to teach across caste
  • His verses in Guru Granth Sahib make him Sikh as well
  • Attacked both religious orthodoxy

The Two Graves

When Kabir died, Hindus and Muslims both claimed the body. They found:

  • One grave with body (buried by Muslims)
