The Bhasma Āratī at Ujjain Mahākāleśvara at 4 AM daily is UNIQUE in all of Hindu worship — sacred ash from cremation grounds is applied to the liṅga. Historically, fresh cremation ash was used; since 1970s, substitute vibhūti is used. Devotees must book months in advance; only 1,500 permitted per day. See main mahakaleshwar-ujjain.
