Hindu / Rajput / Folk - Chittorgarh, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan (24.8833°N, 74.6167°E) Mahārāṇā Pratāp (1540–1597) — Rajput king of Mewar who refused Akbar's tribute demand and fought guerrilla resistance for 25 years. His cavalry horse Chetak (who leapt to save him at the Battle of Haldighati) is folk-immortalized. Shrines to him and Chetak in Chittorgarh, Kumbhalgarh, Udaipur.
