Mātaṅgeśvara is the only living temple of the Khajuraho complex (the rest being UNESCO museum-sites). The 4-foot yellow-sandstone Liṅga is said to be rising by 1 inch every 100 years, held down by an iron ring. Built by the Chandela king Yashovarman c. 954 CE.
