She protects cattle and grants wealth; her shrines sit at the boundary of villages. Iconography: a tall goddess on a he-goat (vāhana), holding a sword. The annual Meldī Mātā Jātrā in Bhādra (August–September) draws devotees from Gujarat diaspora worldwide.
