Sacred Narrative
The Godāvarī river — the "Dakṣiṇa Gaṅgā" (Southern Ganges) — originates at the Brahmagiri Peak (1,295m) near Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga. Pilgrims climb 750 steps to the source-spring. The Godāvarī flows 1,465 km across Maharashtra, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh before reaching the Bay of Bengal.
