Hindu / Shaiva - Panna, Panna, Madhya Pradesh (24.7167°N, 80.1833°E) The 11th-c. Shaiva temples of Panna preserve Gurjara-Pratihāra architecture. Panna is also India's only diamond-mining district — a tradition since 16th c. The Maharajah's diamond-trust still pays temple-service dues from mining revenue. The Panna Vishvanāth Mandir draws pilgrims during Shivaratri.
