Sacred Narrative

Pṛthvīrāj Chauhān III (1166–1192) — last Rajput ruler of Delhi, defeated by Muhammad Ghori at the 2nd Battle of Tarain. His court-poet Chand Bardai's "Pṛthvīrāj Rāso" (7,000 verses) elevated him to Rajput hero-god status. His cenotaph at Ajmer is a folk-shrine.
