[BEGINNER] Savitri is a Vedic solar goddess, the personification of the vital power of the sun (Savitri means "creator" or "stimulator"). She is best known as the goddess who grants wishes and bestows blessings, particularly associated with the Gayatri mantra which is addressed to her in its first three verses.
