Sacred Narrative
Bhālka Tīrtha near Somnath marks where Krishna, resting under a tree, was shot in the foot by the hunter Jara — mistaking the heel for a deer's ear. This was how Krishna left his earthly body. The preserved "Krishna's-footprint-stone" is a pilgrimage. The event marks the formal end of the Dvāpara Yuga and the start of the Kaliyuga.
