Sacred Narrative

Kannappa was a hunter-devotee who, seeing blood oozing from the Kalahasti liṅga, offered his own eye to stop the bleeding. When the second eye began to bleed, he plucked his other eye. Shiva revealed himself and granted him liberation. One of the 63 Nayanmars. Shrine at Kalahasti commemorates him.
