Tripura Sundari

Tripura Sundarī ("Beauty of the Three Worlds") is the third Mahāvidyā and one of the most theologically sophisticated goddesses in Hinduism. Principal shrine: Mātabari, Udaipur, Tripura — which gives the state its name.

Tripura Sundarī is the principal goddess of the Śrī Vidyā tradition — arguably the most mathematically sophisticated Hindu esoteric school. She is worshipped through the Śrī Yantra — nine interlocked triangles forming 43 smaller triangles and the bindu. The 15-syllable Pañcadaśī mantra is her root-formula. The 1000-names Lalitā Sahasranāma is her praise-text, recited daily in many Hindu households.
