Sacred Narrative
The Viṭhala Temple of Hampi (15th–16th c.) — designed during Devarāya II. Features 56 musical pillars that ring when struck (stopped ringing after British colonial-era examination). The stone chariot before the temple is iconic of Vijayanagara. The Ranga Mandapa hosted the royal music and dance of Krishnadevarāya.
