Brajeśvarī Devī / Kangra Devī — Himachal Śakti Pīṭha

Bajeśvarī Devī — the Kangra goddess, of Kangra town and its valley in Himachal Pradesh — is a Śākta shrine of regional importance, and it is named among the śakti-pīṭhas in the enumerations that reach this far north. In those lists it is assigned a portion of Sati's dismembered body; the assignment differs between enumerations, and this entry states the corpus's own attribution — a bodha-maṇḍa, the left breast — as an attribution of one list rather than as a settled fact. The Kāṅgrā valley has several Śākta shrines within a few miles of one another, and their separate pīṭha assignments are a matter of enumerating traditions rather than of a single authority.
The shrine's history is one of destruction and rebuilding, and the sequence is well-known locally: it was looted by Maḥmūd of Ghaznī in his northern campaigns at the turn of the eleventh century, and the Kangra valley shrines were plundered more than once in the succeeding centuries — by Turkic and by other raids — and each time rebuilt. The Kāṅgrā earthquake of 1905 destroyed buildings in the valley, and the shrine was reconstructed in the twentieth century; the fabric now standing is therefore not old, and the mūrti is the continuity that matters, not the walls. The temple's management today is a devasthanam or trust, with an annual calendar that includes a Navarātri and a Śivarātri, but the specific days and the processions are local and have not been verified here.
The wider setting is the Kāṅgrā religious complex, where the Rājā dynasty's and the Pahari leelā literature of the valley, which the devī, sākti and bhairava forms of the valley cult all feed, and where the bhairava and sākti forms of the local cult are as significant as the devī shrines themselves. An entry on Bajeśvarī that reported only the pīṭha attribution would miss the valley it sits in.
