Mira Bai was born into a Rajput royal family of Mewar. According to legend, from childhood she was drawn to Krishna's image and rejected the life of a typical princess. Her mother-in-law tried various methods to break her devotion, including sending assassins, which Mira turned into encounters with Krishna.
