Śrīnāthjī — 7-year-old Krishna form (Giridhārī, holding up Mount Govardhana) — is the principal deity of the Puṣṭimārga (founded by Vallabhācārya, 1479–1531). The idol was moved from Jatipura (Mathura) to Nāthdwāra in 1672 to escape Aurangzeb. Elaborate daily wardrobe changes (śṛṅgāra): 8 different clothing-sets per day. Lakhs of Gujarati, Rajasthani, and diasporic Pushtimārga devotees pilgrimage. The chitra-kāra (painted scrolls — pichwais) tradition is centered here.
