Sixth and final Padai Veedu. Famous as the place where Tamil poetess Avvaiyar met the boy-Murugan who cleverly humbled her pride in Tamil knowledge. One of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalangal — temples sung in the Tevaram hymns of the 63 Nayanars (7th–9th c. CE). These are the canonical Tamil Shaiva pilgrimage circuit.
