Bhūtanātha ("Lord of Spirits") is a popular guardian-god of Konkan villages, especially in Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Uttara Kannada. Propitiated to control malevolent spirits; his shrines are typically simple stone platforms under banyan trees.
