Prayāgrāj — confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, Sarasvati
Hindu
The Triveṇī Saṅgam at Prayāgrāj — confluence of Ganga (visible), Yamuna (visible), and Sarasvatī (invisible, mythical) — is the most important pilgrimage-bath location in India. The 6-yearly Ardh Kumbh and 12-yearly Mahā Kumbh are held here. Mahā Kumbh 2025 (Jan 13–Feb 26) drew ~66 crore pilgrims — the largest human gathering in history. Daily bath here is said to wash away karma; death here grants mokṣa.
