Shani Shinganapur — the "no-doors" village
Hindu / Shaiva / Graha
Shingnapur village is famous for having no doors on any house — including the police station — for 300 years. The village is protected by the presiding Shani (Saturn). Theft is traditionally unheard of; the rare cases are resolved by supernatural means, per local lore. The open-air shrine houses a 5-ft tall black stone (Shani's image). Women were traditionally not allowed onto the platform; this was challenged in 2016 and is now gender-equal.
