Islamic / Sufi - Location: Haji Ali (Mumbai), Mumbai, Maharashtra (18.9826°N, 72.8092°E) The Ḥājī 'Alī Dargah sits on an islet 500m off the coast of south Mumbai, accessible only at low tide via a stone causeway. The 15th-c. saint's tomb has become one of Mumbai's most-visited shrines (40,000 weekly; 100,000+ on Thursdays and festivals). Devotees are of all faiths — Muslims, Hindus, Parsis, Christians come to pray for wishes. The iconic silhouette at sunset is a Mumbai landmark.
