DamdamÄ SÄhib â where GurÅĢ Granth SÄhib was completed
Sikh
Takht DamdamÄ SÄhib at Talwandi Sabo â 5th and last of the 5 Sikh Takhts. Here GurÅĢ Gobind Singh, after the Battle of Muktsar (1706), rested for 9 months and compiled the final version of the GurÅĢ Granth SÄhib (DamdamÄ Sahib BÄĢr). The Guru declared DamdamÄ SÄhib to be his GurÅĢ-kÄĢ-KÄshÄĢ (Sikh Varanasi). Annual VaisÄkhÄĢ festival (April 13) draws 100,000+ Sikhs.
India's sacred landscape embraces all faith-traditions â Hindu, Jain, Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Jewish, Zoroastrian, tribal, regional-folk â each with its own cosmology. This entry honors Sikh on its own terms.
