Syed Muhammad Hussaini (30 July 1321 – 1 November 1422) — successor of Delhi's Nasiruddin Chiragh Dehlavi — fled Timur's 1398 invasion at 77, wandered Gwalior to Khambhat, and settled at Gulbarga on Sultan Firuz Shah's invitation (1399/1400). He lived past 100, outlived his royal patron's suspicion, backed the brother (Ahmad Shah) who built his tomb — and made the Deccan Chishti forever.
Banda Nawaz is the Deccan's answer to Nizamuddin: the proof that Chishti love spoke Dakhni, farmed disciples among sultans and sweepers alike, and survived courts by outlasting them. Gulbarga's syncretic civic culture still dates itself from his hospice door.
